What would you do if someone who's apparently a bit mad and just got discharged from IMH (a.k.a. Woodbridge) approaches you and ask you for money? Here are a few choices..
A) Give him $5 and leave
B) Ignore him and just walk away calmly
C) Turn and immediately RUN AWAY AT FULL SPEED
D) Others (state out your choice)
Well I met one on the way back home and I chose choice A. Kinda regret it a bit now but let me give you a rough recap of what happened:
Stranger (the supposedly siao kia): "Hey do you have money to lend?"
Me: *pretending not to hear/thought he wasn't talking to me*
Stranger (confirmed talking to me liao): "Can lend me money? I want to buy drinks. I got no coins."
Me (thinking that this guy wants to exchange notes for coins): "Err where is your money?"
Stranger: "No. I just want to borrow money from you. You got $2?"
Me (*looks at wallet only to find 1 $50 note, 1 $5 note and 1 5 cent coin lolz*): "Err no."
Stranger (*shows me a whole lot of coins on 1 hand*): "I only got these. Can lend me $2?" [ I just realised that just now he told me he got no coins and then here he got so many coins?!?! ]
Me (*starts thinking that he might be a conman or he might ask to borrow my hp and run away with it if I give it to him*): "I don't have $2."
Stranger: "Then lend me $5. I see your wallet got $5 note there. Lend me please. Please la brother. I don't have a home. I just came out from IMH."
Me (*a bit shocked after hearing "IMH" and hesitating*): "Err like that a bit funny leh.."
Stranger: "Please la brother.. Help me la.. I know Singapore asking for money is a crime but help me la brother.. Or you give me your hp no. I call you back return you your money."
Me (*WTF NO WAY AM I GIVING YOU MY HP OR MY HP NO.*): "No need!! No need!! *sighs* Wah lau eh.." *hesitated for a while before giving him my $5 note* [ I was thinking: "Aiyah just treat as if I'm giving money to a beggar la.. $5 nia. ]
Stranger: "Thanks ah brother.." *walk away a bit before turning back and talking again* "Don't call the police ah.."
Me (*smiling*): "No la, no la. I won't la."

Those are the exact words he said to me (yes, including "brother"), or at least what I remember..
Now on hindsight, I think I got conned lolz. He might be a conman or really a bit siao or something but I don't know why I gave him the $5 note. Maybe I was scared for my safety (you know the stories about ppl from IMH right? The last thing I want is some ah siao take parang chiong me when I'm like damn tired after NP bball trial.).. Maybe I was pity-ing him.. Maybe I believed his story.. I seriously don't know. I was seriously tempted to turn and run away at full speed like halfway through the conversation but I thought that it wasn't cool to do so LOLZ. Whatever, it's over and I hope he makes good use of that $5. 所谓助人为快乐之本 but this time I also think that I'm over the limit liao la -.-
Anyway, today I went for the NP Basketball trial and as expected, I wasn't chosen lolz. I went there with the "relax la" mentality that I won't be selected and I just wanted to have a good game of basketball with the NP school team (since Ace, GHT, Rod and everyone kept saying that they play like God or sth..). Well I admit that they are very good, but they are not Godlike. I love playing defense and especially against good players like them,
IT'S SO SATISFYING TO FRUSTRATE PEOPLE WHEN I'M DEFENDING THEM. :D
They owned me though when they were defending me lolz. Steals after steals.. I wasn't even able to get into my groove when they kept stealing and stealing (from my teammates and me).. I'll give them credit for that.I lost around $25 because of going for this trial and maybe even more than that (hope not) because I dropped my hp for the 1st time in school on Thursday when I went there only to find out that the trial has been postponed to yesterday. Didn't go to work yesterday cos of the clash of timing with the bball trial and of course no 20 bucks.. Add that to the $5 I gave to the stranger and I lost $25 because of this bball trial lolz.
The only good thing about yesterday was that the Mavs were eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Warriors. :D Haha am I the only 1 watching basketball while everyone else is watching soccer? Who cares. =)
Anyway, I went to the Singapore National Museum on Thursday (3-5-07). It was ok la.. Very hi-tech now.. The story-telling concept was quite interesting but was also a bit long-winded considering we woke up early in the morning to go there. Was fking tired throughout and ended up sleeping on the bus on the way home with Leon getting emo LOLZ.
